Hattie began a bold new chapter of her life at Jungle Friends in October 2017. Formerly kept as a pet, Hattie's feisty personality and growing aggression made life at home difficult for her guardian, who ultimately made the compassionate decision to bring her to the sanctuary, where she could live life on her own terms. 

And live she does! Since arriving, Hattie has truly flourished in her outdoor habitat, where she enjoys the freedom to explore, observe, and sass her way through the day. While she has no interest in sharing her space with another monkey, she does enjoy watching her fellow primates from a distance - always keeping tabs on the action from her preferred perch. A true nature enthusiast with a side of diva, Hattie is always alert, always opinionated, and never afraid to let her voice be heard. 

Her favorite time of day? Mealtime, hands down. Known for having the grandest appetite in all of Munchkinland, Hattie makes no effort to hide her excitement-often shouting joyfully as she digs into her favorite treats, grapes and Cheerios. She may be small, but her appetite and personality are larger than life! Sassy, spirited, and totally one-of-a-kind, Hattie reminds us every day that independence is something to be celebrated-and that a little attitude goes a long way when you're living your best life.
