Moana
Brown Capuchin

Born at Jungle Friends
Nuzzle Nugget
Cindy’s arrival was a big surprise. Born to Michelle, one of the capuchins rescued from a bankrupt roadside zoo, Cindy’s birth came as a shock, as it was believed that all the males in the group had been vasectomized. After three unexpected births, the males were separated into a bachelor group for vasectomies to prevent further surprises. Michelle, baby Cindy, and Aunt Nell were moved to a separate habitat where they could care for the newborn. Raised by her mother, Cindy developed naturally and avoided the stereotypical behaviors often seen in monkeys without maternal care, such as rocking, digit sucking, or self-grasping. Now all grown up, Cindy is a well-adjusted monkey living happily with Fast Tony, another male from the original group. Although Cindy has become independent, her sweet nature remains, and she thrives in her new environment, having embraced her own life away from Michelle and Nell.
Moana is Cindy's spirit doppelganger. Like Moana, Cindy is connected to her roots and values her close-knit family. Both have a sweet nature but possess an underlying strength that comes from knowing they have a loving family to support them.
