Abby’s first guardians took her in when she was six months old. As the months went by, they realized that forcing Abby to wear diapers and leaving her alone all day while they were at work was not fair to her. After watching the documentary My Child is a Monkey, which featured Jungle Friends founder Kari Bagnall, they decided that Abby needed to live a monkey’s life—with other monkeys.

Abby arrived at Jungle Friends when she was a year old and still on formula. Here, Abby met another baby monkey named Jak Jak, who arrived the same day and was the same age. Abby and Jak Jak have a lot in common--they both endured a lot of disruption in their short lives as "pet" monkeys. Jungle Friends was the fourth home for both Abby and Jak Jak!

Abby is full of spunk and has turned out to be quite the little socialite, chattering and lip smacking to the other monkeys in neighboring habitats.  and leaping from one perch to the next with lightning speed. At the end of the day, she is ready to snuggle in for a good night's sleep with Jak Jak--recharging for more wild antics.
