Ex-Pet
Whimsical Wide-Eyed Wanderess
Ellie Mae’s story began when she was purchased as a surrogate child at just five weeks old. Initially, she seemed like the perfect pet, delighting her human family with her cute antics and playful nature. However, as she grew, so did her natural monkey instincts, which included a tendency to bite. Realizing that Ellie Mae needed more than they could provide and that she belonged with other monkeys, her human guardians reached out to Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary.
Once at Jungle Friends, Ellie Mae quickly won over the hearts of everyone she met. She also captured the attention of another capuchin, and the two have been inseparable ever since. They spend their days racing around their habitat, swinging from ropes, climbing trees, and playing in buckets. Ellie Mae has found the perfect place to live out her days doing ‘monkey things’ with her best friend by her side.
