Travis arrived at Jungle Friends from New York after his guardian could no longer care for him. His journey included a painful past where, following the breeder's advice, nearly all his teeth were removed to minimize the severity of potential bites—a harsh reality for many 'pet' monkeys subjected to similar treatments. When Travis first arrived at the sanctuary, he was timid and visibly shaken by the new environment. Having never interacted with other monkeys and confined indoors for twelve years, it took him nearly a month to muster the courage to explore his outdoor habitat.

Despite these challenges, Travis has undergone a remarkable transformation. He has blossomed into a sweet and gentle soul, fully embracing his new life among fellow monkeys. His days are now spent engaging warmly with his companions as they eat, forage, and soak up the sun together. Travis particularly loves to play—his time is joyfully spent climbing and swinging through the spacious habitat, showing kindness and gentleness at his core. He has learned to be a monkey among monkeys, and his gentle spirit shines as he lives peacefully, enjoying every moment with the companionship of his new friends.
