Benevolent Matriarch
Monica was among a group of capuchins rescued from a bankrupt roadside zoo, where she had been living in an enclosure with 24 other capuchins. Initially, the rescue seemed straightforward: a family group with a nursing mother and infant needed a new home. However, things took an unexpected turn when three of the monkeys gave birth. Despite being informed that all the males had been vasectomized, this surprise led to the males being temporarily separated into a bachelor group for their procedures. Monica, Rachel, and her baby Skittles were moved into their own habitat to ensure Skittles received proper care. Thanks to her mother's attentive upbringing, Skittles doesn't exhibit any stereotypical behaviors like rocking, digit sucking, or self-grasping.
Monica is now thriving in her new environment, relishing the space and freedom to explore. She has formed strong bonds with Rachel and Skittles, creating a close-knit trio that brings joy and vibrancy to their sanctuary habitat. Her playful nature and curiosity are a testament to her resilience and the care she receives daily.
Mary Poppins is Monica's spirit doppelganger because both embody the essence of a nurturing caregiver with a touch of magic. Just as Mary Poppins effortlessly brings joy, guidance, and protection to the children in her care, Monica creates a warm and supportive environment for her fellow capuchins, ensuring their well-being with her gentle and attentive nature.
Exploring new heights, Monica climbs gracefully, showcasing her playful spirit and adventurous nature.
Monica takes a moment to relax, her serene presence bringing a sense of calm to her sanctuary home.
Monica’s resilient spirit and radiant personality light up her sanctuary, making her a true star among the capuchins.
