Mia was separated from her mother and sold as a pet when she was just 4 days old. For 21 years, she lived as part of a family in Iowa, cherished and cared for by her devoted guardians. Despite their deep love and the best home they could provide, they eventually realized that Mia needed a permanent place where she could socialize with other monkeys and live out her days in a more natural environment. After reaching out to Jungle Friends, Mia found her new home in sunny Florida, where she now enjoys the company of many monkey friends.

At first, Mia was shy and cautious, but her intelligence quickly shone through when she learned the runway system on her very first day. Now fully adjusted to her new home, Mia enjoys a variety of activities that keep her engaged and happy. She loves exploring every corner of her habitat, often tearing up anything she can get her hands on with great enthusiasm. Mia delights in tossing objects around, showcasing her playful side, and engaging in lively chats with her monkey friends. She spends her days climbing trees, basking in the warm Florida sun, and discovering new favorite spots within her enclosure. Her curiosity and energy have made her a beloved member of the Jungle Friends family.

 

 

From cherished pet to sanctuary explorer, Mia has found a place where she can be herself—sociable, curious, and utterly beloved by everyone around her.

Mia’s joyful personality shines through as she tosses leaves and twigs around, a little reminder that even after a lifetime in a home, she’s still got plenty of monkey mischief in her.
