Affectionately known as "Grandma Molly" or "Molly Too", this elderly spider monkey found a new home at Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary on September 5, 2016. Molly spent 27 years in Colorado with a human family, playing in the backyard in the trees until her adventurous spirit led her to visit the neighbors - oops! Despite her playful nature, Molly had a rebellious streak, especially when it came to wearing diapers, which she vehemently rejected with a strong protest to her guardian.

Realizing that Molly needed a more suitable environment, her human family made the heart-wrenching decision to find her a new home. Jungle Friends was the perfect answer.

Molly's travel arrangements made sure she traveled in style on a first-class private plane to Gainesville, Florida. Upon arrival, Molly was greeted by our Sanctuary Manager, who escorted her from the airport.

Molly was then released into an indoor enclosure with access to a large runway leading to her spacious new habitat. She wasted no time exploring her surroundings, basking in the fresh air and sunshine, and warmly acknowledging the humans who welcomed her.

Brave and curious, Molly climbed to the top of her 15-foot-high habitat, swung on ropes, and even tried out the trapeze with remarkable ease. She thoroughly enjoyed every inch of her new playground, from the barrel to the rope ladder and the Jungle Gyms. Her adventurous spirit and the happy sounds she made were a delight to all who witnessed her exploration. 

Molly became friends with an older spider monkey named Travis. At first, she was hesitant to let him sleep in her bedroom, so they each had their own bedroom attached to the same outdoor habitat. However, over time, Molly warmed up to Travis, and now they snuggle together and sleep in the same bedroom.p in the same bedroom.
