My Story

 

Mike arrived at Jungle Friends alongside his sister, Molly, after enduring a challenging past. Originally kept as 'pets' in South Florida, their situation took a turn during the 2004 hurricane season, which repeatedly damaged their cages. The stress and difficulty of maintaining their care led their owners to make the heartbreaking decision to schedule both monkeys for euthanasia.

However, a concerned neighbor stepped in and contacted Jungle Friends. Kari, the founder of Jungle Friends, immediately called the vet and assured him that the sanctuary would take in both Molly and Mike. The vet, relieved that he wouldn't have to euthanize two healthy monkeys, cooperated with the transfer.

Mike shares a tender and heartwarming bond with his sister, Molly. The two are inseparable, constantly looking out for each other and sharing their favorite treats. Their close relationship is further strengthened by long, affectionate grooming sessions, a testament to their deep connection and mutual care. 

Mike's nurturing and protective nature, always looking out for his sister Molly, finds a fitting parallel in his spirit doppelganger, Chris Hemsworth. Known for his strong and caring personality, Hemsworth maintains a close, protective relationship with his siblings. This mirrors Mike's qualities of strength, loyalty, and the loving bond he shares with Molly.
