My Story

Lindsey, a dedicated caregiver who has been with Jungle Friends for over 12 years, has witnessed hundreds of monkey stories—but none quite like Lani’s.

Lani was born right here at the sanctuary, on her sister’s birthday, as a beautiful and unexpected surprise. When Tupac and Ibiggie were rescued from a breeding facility and brought to Jungle Friends, no one knew Ibiggie was pregnant. After years of having every baby taken from them for the pet trade, this time was different.

At Jungle Friends, Lani wasn’t taken. She was nurtured.

Lindsey loved watching her grow up surrounded by both her parents, free to play, explore, and thrive in an environment that feels almost wild. It’s a powerful reminder of what sanctuary truly means—Lani has only ever known love, safety, and the comfort of family.

She’s not just a success story—she’s a living symbol of hope. 

Lani's spirit doppelganger is Paris Jackson. Paris, the daughter of the legendary singer Michael Jackson, has grown up in the spotlight but has forged her own path with resilience and grace. Both Lani and Paris embody a spirit of overcoming challenges while captivating those around them with their charm and individuality.
